The Minister of Culture and Media of Germany, Claudia Roth, during a two-day visit to Odesa, said that her country will help ensure the preservation of the cultural heritage of the Ukrainian city under an accelerated procedure.

About this informed Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko after a meeting with a colleague.

The dossier for accelerated inclusion of Odesa in the UNESCO list is planned already in July. Currently, the Ministry of Culture, together with the Odesa City Hall, is preparing all the necessary documents for this.

"Inclusion of Odesa in the main list of UNESCO's world cultural heritage, initiated by MKIP and the city's mayor's office, and full support of Germany in this process. We are currently working towards an expedited procedure due to the war. And when we succeed, and I have no doubts about it, it will be a precedent," Tkachenko noted.
