About this reported in "Kyivdemontazh".
For a long time, the composition was partially covered by shawarma stalls and street vendors. In total, ten MAFs were located on this site, which effectively made the mosaic invisible in the urban space.
The dismantling of the structures has now been completed, and the relief can once again be seen in its entirety. Work on the improvement of Otradnoye Avenue is still ongoing.
According to note The BZ material refers to the mosaic “Folk Dances” from the “Creativity” cycle, created in 1967 by artists Valeriy Karas, Oleksandr Dolotin, and Ivan Apollonov. The works are located on houses at 50 and 54 Vaclav Havel Boulevard in Kyiv.
It is “Folk Dances” that remained the only mosaic of the cycle that has survived without significant interventions. The other compositions — “Pottery,” “The Sun is the Source of Life,” and “Weaving” — were partially covered in recent years during the insulation of the facades of residential buildings.
