The cycle route will connect the communities of Lviv MTG - Malekhov, Veliki Hrybovychy and Hryada. The track will be built as part of the reconstruction of the M-09 international highway with funds from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
"Construction of a bicycle path on the M-09 highway is unprecedented in Ukraine. The project includes many innovations that were not used before. It is also a good example of inter-municipal cooperation and the consolidated position of Zhovkivska, Kulikivska and Lviv communities," says Roman Kizima, deputy director of the city agglomeration department.

Mayor of the Zhovkiv community, Oleg Volskyi, emphasized that since the beginning of the year, the community has hosted two championships of Ukraine in cycling, which were attended by athletes from all over Ukraine. The appearance of a new bicycle route will only contribute to the development of this sport, popularize the city and attract more tourists.
"Given the large number of architectural and cultural monuments in Zhovka, the bike path will significantly expand the tourist potential of the entire Lviv region," added Volskyi.
Currently, preparatory work is being carried out for the major overhaul of the M-09 highway of international importance on the Lviv - Rava-Ruska section.
