The restoration of one of the oldest wooden churches of the Carpathians was resumed in the Lviv region

In the village of Isai, in the mountainous part of the Lviv region, the restoration of the wooden church of Saint Michael the Archangel, which is an architectural monument of national importance, was resumed.

The architectural object is one of the oldest preserved wooden churches in the Carpathian region. It is located in the center of the village and is a pearl of sacred architecture, built by craftsmen in the traditional Boyki style.

"Architectural monuments are a valuable source of national history and culture, containing multifaceted information about various aspects of the past of our state," said the deputy head of the Lviv OVA Yuriy Buchko.

In 2018, the structure was given the status of an emergency facility and rescue began. Until 2021, emergency works were carried out here, the roof and domes of the church were restored.

This year, the regional budget allocated 3,6 million UAH for the restoration of the architectural monument, and another 1 million UAH was allocated for the restoration of the wall painting of this unique church.
