About this reported the edition of Zaxid.net, referring to the head of the Dobromil community, Petr Kulyas.
The city authorities decided to update the asphalt surface in the central square, as a result, during the repair work, ancient foundations were discovered.
"This is probably the basement of a Jewish tenement house of the XNUMXth century, which has not been preserved. Or a special basement, in which the goods that were traded on the Market were once stored. There are many such cellars in Dobromyla," said the mayor.
Near this place there were sinkholes before, in particular, when the church of St. Andrew was being built. According to the conclusions of the archaeologist who investigated the object, findings from different times were found.
"It is possible to ascertain the location on the Rynok square of a complex of various periods of predorizh, which functioned and developed during the early modern, and possibly the late medieval periods of the city's development. These are rare monuments of the architectural and archaeological heritage of the historical cities of Europe", - informs the senior researcher of the Institute of Ukrainian Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, archaeologist Yuriy Lukomskyi.
In particular, experts advise the Dobromil city council to conserve the object in order to further professionally examine it and restore the vault of the beer hall.
