Specialists of the Kharkiv Department of the National Scientific and Research Restoration Center are restoring the XNUMXth century Gospel. The relic managed to be saved from the museum in Izyum.

About this reports the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

Even during the Second World War, this Gospel was also hidden by museum staff, burying it in the ground. And already during the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, it was hidden in the museum building itself.

As noted by the Department of Culture and Tourism and HOVA, the local history museum in Izyum was significantly damaged by enemy shelling. It has broken windows, a damaged roof, no lights and no heating.

"As a result of Russian aggression, the museum building was damaged, which created unfavorable conditions for the paper block of a valuable monument. After the deoccupation of Izyum, the Gospel was transported to more favorable conditions. Therefore, it was decided to carry out urgent conservation and restoration measures to stop the destructive processes that began in the book block," the department reported.
