Urban meadows were planted on a plot in Vinnytsia. Now they decide whether to continue the experiment

So far, not all citizens understood the benefits of the initiative and supported it.

The municipal enterprise "Institute of Urban Development" is conducting a survey of residents of Vinnytsia about what they think about city meadows. For this, information leaflets were distributed near the test area and passers-by's opinions about this type of landscaping were collected.

"Of course, there were different opinions: some like such changes, while others are skeptical. Many people said that at the end of spring the onion looked much more attractive. There was also a valid remark that vegetation creates discomfort for motorists who find it difficult to see pedestrians. By the way, this problem can be solved by making 1-meter-wide swathes on both sides of the pedestrian crossing," the statement reads.

KP workers note that now is the time for the first mowing of city meadows. If it is carried out correctly, some plants will sow seeds, and others will begin to grow fresh green mass.

"The first mowing is performed when the seeds of annual flowers have ripened. You need to mow at a height of 8-10 cm and it is best to use a traditional scythe. "The hay must be left on the meadow for several days until the seeds fall", - explain the representatives of the "Institute of Urban Development".

Residents of Vinnytsia are invited to take part in online survey regarding the attitude to urban meadows.
