In Chernihiv region, a school is being reconstructed according to the project of BORODKIN architects

A team of architects from Kyiv won first place at the All-Ukrainian closed competition "RESET 2022: Energy-efficient, green schools".

According to the results of the competition, the school of grades I-III for 250 students, located at the address: str. 1 Hrushevsky, Novgorod-Siverskyi, is being reconstructed according to the concept of the studio BORODKIN architects.

"The jury noted the high level of the project: the authors demonstrated a high-quality architectural solution as the embodiment of new modern trends in the architecture of educational institutions and a modern compositional and planning solution using free open spaces (atriums), which will encourage students to communicate more and feel comfortable in the school building", - the organizers of the competition inform.

The authors of the best concept took into account energy-efficient planning solutions and solved one of the key tasks of the competition - they invented new approaches in the design of an educational institution with relevance for the future.

The project of the author's team of "GRAFIT PRO" LLC was awarded with an incentive award. According to the jury, the concept has an interesting solution for the courtyard as a safe place for schoolchildren to rest. The presence of a memorial wall as a place of memory and the unusual solution of a greenhouse garden were also noted.

In addition, the author's team of the project organization "Prospekt-Projekt" was awarded an incentive prize. The jury noted that the solution of a compact school building with pragmatic planning, which should give an additional effect of energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness, is successful. They also pointed out the modern approach to volume-planning solutions and the analytical approach of the project authors to the assigned tasks.

By the way, the following projects were evaluated:

  • Anna Bondar - architect, head of the subcommittee on urban planning, improvement and land relations within built-up areas of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the Organization of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning.
  • Evgeny Plashchenko - architect, general director of the Directorate of Spatial Planning of Territories and Architecture of the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine.
  • Olga Podushkina - architect, head of the copyright and professional ethics commission of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine; head of the expert commission of the Architectural Chamber of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine; director and head of her own architectural workshop FPA-architect.
  • Oleg Pikushchenko - architect, vice-president of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine, chairman of the Council of the Chernivtsi regional branch of the Architectural Chamber of Ukraine of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine.
  • Dmytro Aranchiy - architect, founder of the architectural studio Aranchii Architects.
  • Lyudmila Tkachenko - city head, Novgorod-Siversk territorial community.
  • Oleksandr Serdyuk - head of the city planning and architecture department of the Novgorod-Siver city council, chief architect of the city.

The architectural competition "RESET 2022: Energy-efficient, green schools" is part of the "EE-JUMP - energy efficiency for educators, journalists, municipalities from professionals" project. 

Organizer: public union "Business for Partnership" as part of the project "Promotion of energy efficiency and implementation of the EU Directive on energy efficiency in Ukraine", carried out by the German government company GIZ GmbH on behalf of the Government of Germany and Switzerland.
