About the opening of the Alex Cooper institution Told me in their social networks the day before.
The building of the tram control room itself was built in 1982 according to the project of the Ukrainian architect Vig Yanosh Yanoshevich in the style of modernism. In 1996, the tram line from Lviv Square was closed. At about the same moment, life temporarily left the building.
Already in the period from 2002 to 2005, according to local residents, the building housed an establishment with Chinese cuisine. Later, they wanted to reconstruct the depot, and there were even rumors that the entrance to the "Lvivska Brama" station was planned to be built in its place.
However, thanks to the actions of caring Kyiv residents, the local authorities decided to leave the building in its authentic form and rent it out.
"Our goal is to renovate the building, make it more efficient from a business point of view, and create a positive case from which the restoration of the Lviv Square area can begin... As for the building, we will simply restore it so that everything looks like it did in the photos of 1982," - tells Cooper in the comments to the media.
Currently, the lease agreement has been signed for one and a half years.
