During the meeting, the commission for naming and renaming the names of the settlement, streets, alleys, avenues, squares, squares, institutions and memorials of the Vatutine urban territorial community supported the public opinion regarding the renaming of the city of Vatutine to Bagachevo.
Variants of new toponyms were chosen over two months using an online survey, in which 475 people took part.
According to his results, 206 people voted to change the name in favor of Bagachevo; 122 – wanted to keep the former name of Vatutine; 20 people wanted to name the city Kobzareve. Other options received less than 15 votes.
Thus, the members of the commission brought the issue of renaming the city of Vatutine to Bagachevo to the meeting of the regular session of the city council, which will take place on December 22, 2022.
By the way, the former mining town was founded in 1947 and named after the Soviet general Mykola Vatutin.
