The document, which was signed on June 7, deals with humanitarian aid and cultural cooperation between Lublin (Poland), Nancy (France), Münster and Karlsruhe (Germany) with Ukrainian cities. In addition, the declaration condemns the war started by Russia and advocates Ukraine's membership in the EU.
During a three-day meeting within the Weimar Triangle, the mayors of four European cities discussed assistance in the reconstruction of Ukraine after the victory, support and adaptation of refugees abroad, and the organization of cultural meetings.
"We clearly condemn Russia's aggression against sovereign Ukraine, we express our admiration for the perseverance of its defenders and our desire to support Ukraine's aspirations for EU membership at the level of European cities," noted the mayor of Lublin, Krzysztof Zhuk
By the way, the day before, Lublin, which is a partner of Lviv, involved its partners - the German cities of Delmenhorst, Münster and the French city of Nancy - in the collection of humanitarian aid and funds for Ukrainian refugees. The latter invited to join the initiative of its German counterpart – Karlsruhe. Thanks to the inhabitants of these settlements, it was possible to help a significant number of victims of the war and contribute to the supply of Lviv with the necessary medicines and products.
