Luxembourg makes contraceptives free from April

Starting in April, the Luxembourg government will introduce a new health policy and make birth control pills free. The program does not cover condoms. 

Publication of The Mayor the, that the free contraception program in Luxembourg will start from April 1.

Under the new program, people of any age can receive 100% compensation without a doctor's prescription. This will help protect vulnerable young people who have been lured by the financial opportunity to buy contraceptives.

The Minister of Health of Luxembourg, Paulette Lenert, believes that such a decision will allow citizens to improve family planning.

Currently, Luxembourg ranks 4th in the European Contraception Atlas after England, France and Belgium. The Contraception Atlas is a map of European countries that shows the percentage of access to contraception among the population every year.
