Italian artist Dario Gambarin used a tractor to recreate a portrait of Picasso for the 50th anniversary of the artist's death.

Dario Gambarin used a tractor to carve a huge portrait of Pablo Picasso in a field in Castagnaro, Verona. The artist was inspired by Picasso's 1907 self-portrait. Dario created this work for the 50th anniversary of the death of the outstanding Spanish-French artist.

Gambarin is known for creating huge portraits of famous people in a field in northern Italy. In November 2013, he recreated one of the photos of former US President John F. Kennedy on the eve of the 50th anniversary of his death.

In the same year, Gambarin created the image of Pope Francis in a field of 25 square meters using a tractor with a plow and a harrow. The Italian artist decided to carve the work on his parents' field after the pontiff declared a day of fasting and prayer for peace in Syria.
