This was stated by the Minister of Culture and Information Policy, Oleksandr Tkachenko informed in Telegram.
"We are disappointed that the working group of the National Music Academy of Ukraine, whose meeting was held today in Kyiv, believes that it is necessary to further understand whether the name of Tchaikovsky should be removed from the name of the leading music university of Ukraine," he said.
Tkachenko added that the meeting did not take into account all the recommendations that were given during these months: from the specialized committee of the Verkhovna Rada, from the Expert Council on overcoming the consequences of Russification and totalitarianism under the MKIP, or from the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance.
"And this was at a time when all our theaters refused to perform Tchaikovsky. The solution of an important question is again postponed, as they say, for further study. It seems to me that this issue is extremely timely," said the minister.
We will remind you that back in June, the Academic Council of the Pyotr Tchaikovsky National Music Academy was appointed spoke for keeping his name in the higher title.
