Kyiv lost $36 million on the extension of the Borshchagivska tram line

Kyiv lost $36 million in World Bank financing, which was supposed to go towards the extension of the Borshchagivska tram line.

About this reported the initiative group "Passengers of Kyiv".

"There will be no extension of the Borshchagiv high-speed tram to the Palace of Sports in the coming years, because the Kyiv city government failed to initiate all the processes necessary for this, and therefore the World Bank canceled the financing project in the amount of $36 million," the activists said in a statement.

The project could have started as early as 2021, but the Kyiv city authorities slowed down this process, activists say. The KMDA responded to the initiative group's request that the project will not be closed, and perhaps the authorities will find other financing.
