"Fragile architecture". Exhibition from the Series___ project about typical Ukrainian "panels"

/ Architecture /

On June 30, the exposition will be opened in Zurich, Switzerland.

Series___ – an urban art project inspired by typical residential apartment buildings of Ukraine. The idea was initiated by designer Dasha Podoltseva and architect Olena Orap.

The idea was originally planned to be implemented in order to raise awareness of the architectural heritage of Ukraine and change the attitude towards "panels". But with the beginning of the Russian invasion, many of these structures were damaged or completely destroyed. A significant number of them cannot be restored.

The exhibition will showcase collectible design items, graphics and clothing items

"Panels are part of our identity. They were affected by the cultural and historical changes that we are experiencing and researching," the authors of the project comment.

Thanks to the exhibition, the team wants to share the peculiarities of the cultural heritage of Ukraine, imagine the future of the local urban landscape and make its own contribution to the discussion of plans for the restoration of residential development.

The exhibition includes collectible design items, graphics and clothing items. The opening of the event will take place on June 30 in the space of VN Residency, the curators of the event will be Tetyana Kartasheva and Maryna Donina.
