About this Northern Macedonia press service of the ICIP.
It is noted that in its report, the commission found violations of the requirements of the legislation on the part of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra (men's monastery) of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (MP). As the Ministry of Culture reminded, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (MP) allowed arbitrary reconstruction, additions, and redevelopment of cultural heritage monuments on the territory of the "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" reserve.
Therefore, the reserve sent the UOC MP a demand for the immediate release, termination of use and return of all state-owned religious buildings and property, which were transferred to the church for use under the 2013 contract. We are talking about the buildings located at the following addresses: str. Lavrska, 11 and St. Lavrska, 15.
In addition, the religious community is required to hand over to the reserve the keys to the doors to all 79 objects of state property, specified in the Act of acceptance and transfer of property, within three working days. The Ministry of Culture emphasized that they hope for the immediate fulfillment of the requirements by the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. In case of refusal, they promise to go to court.
On March 29, the contract for the lease of the national reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (MP) surfaced. Church representatives had to leave the territory of the Lavra.
