Corresponding appeal on November 1 registered Vladyslav Kuyava on the website of the Kyiv City Council.
"Launching a Wi-Fi network in the subway is not only about ensuring the comfort of the people of Kyiv during the trip, but also the opportunity to stay in touch with relatives, which is especially relevant during an air raid, when thousands of people are hiding in the subway," - explains the appropriateness of the initiative the author of the petition.
Mr. Vladyslav notes. that the mobile Internet cannot withstand the peak load during large-scale air alarms or disappears during emergency power outages. Therefore, in this way, the people of Kyiv could get an additional means of communication.
"Besides, the equipment (cables, Wi-Fi routers, etc.) is still at the stations," concludes the Kyivan.
In almost two days, it was possible to collect more than 1300 signatures out of the 6 required.
