Kyivans are outraged by Klitschko's intentions to demolish a damaged historic building without an expert opinion

/ Architecture /

We are talking about the house of the merchant Yosyp Lev, which suffered significant destruction as a result of being hit by an Iranian drone.

About this reports tells architectural history researcher Semyon Shirochyn.

"In Kyiv and throughout the world in the 1940s, there were many cases of restoration of damaged buildings. Books were written, one of which I have. I will say briefly - everything can be restored if you want. There is a house as long as there are walls. Therefore, it cannot be considered destroyed. And if it is destroyed, then the score on destroyed historic buildings in Kyiv will not be 10:1, but 11:0 in favor of the developers.

After all, their monetary interest does not coincide with ours - the enemy decides for them the issue of releasing the territory for development. So no need for expertise! After all, there is a boxer who immediately sees what to wear and what not!” - notes Shirochyn and concludes that the fate of the building will be indicative: if it is restored, it will become a precedent, if not, everything that is called emergency will be demolished.

We will remind, on October 17, Vitaliy Klitschko was on the air of the Kyiv TV channel informed, that the historical object cannot be rebuilt after the Russian attack:

"The building is completely destroyed, it cannot be restored. Because there is almost nothing left of that house. The load-bearing structures are destroyed."

The building, which combined the Kyiv brick style and Gothic elements, was built between the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries. Its owner was a merchant of the first guild, Ioselian Itskovich (Yosyp Isakovich) Lev - the owner of a factory of bent furniture and metal products.
