According to Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, the cost of the pass for young people under 26 will be 30 euros per month. The pass will be valid on suburban and medium-distance trains, as well as national bus routes, and will allow "travel anywhere within the country," write The Guardian.

The new scheme is expected to help certain categories of workers cut travel costs by up to 60%. The government estimates that around two million people will pay less for their daily commutes to work and business.
The Spanish program follows the experience of Germany, which introduced a 49-euro monthly ticket in 2023, covering regional trains, metro, trams and buses throughout the country.
