This project rethinks the idea of national hospitality through the image of the mushroom - the main product of the establishment and a symbol of local culture. The restaurant's interior is built around natural forms and materials: textured plaster and travertine from the Ternopil region.

The mushroom theme can be traced even in the details - curtains made of biotextiles based on mycelium, created by designer Dasha Tsapenko, decor made of real chaga mushrooms, and lamps made of recycled plastic, designed by Valery Kuznetsov.
The space is organized around three "gastronomic islands" - a cheese factory, a meat factory, and a distillery, which reflect local traditions.

“This architecture has grown organically in the existing space, like a mushroom in a mycelium. This emphasizes the idea of locality and naturalness,” notes Volodymyr Nepiyvoda, managing partner of YOD Group.

The Frame Awards, founded by the influential Dutch media outlet Frame, are considered one of the most prestigious international design awards. The main evaluation criteria are innovation, functionality, creativity, and socio-ecological impact of the project, so the jury's attention is focused not only on aesthetics, but also on the substantive depth of the solutions.
This year, "Mushroom House" is the only Ukrainian project in the final. The winners will be announced on November 5, 2025 in Amsterdam.
