The settlement is planned to be equipped with systems that work on modern energy-saving technologies, said the president of the Ile-de-France region, Valerie Pecress, to Vechirnii Kyiv.
"Ile-de-France is a rich region with many investment companies and development firms. I will contact them as soon as I get to France. In a short period of time, we will propose the very concept and project of the new city," the official said.
According to her, French experts will provide their own assessment regarding the revitalization of destroyed areas, and will also take part in the development of master plans, "engaging the best urban planning experience."
At the same time, Valerie Pecress emphasized that Ile-de-France does not plan to intervene directly in the restoration of the architecture itself, because this is "the competence of the regional government".
"The city of tragedy must become completely new for people's lives... But we know that architecture is always a sensitive topic, so we strive for the proposed solutions to meet the local vision... We are not talking about reconstruction now. Rather, it's about technologies, the general concept," she says.
Currently, the local authorities of the Ile-de-France region have already decided to allocate 1,1 million euros for projects supporting Ukraine.
It is worth noting that Ile-de-France is one of the largest regions of France. Its leadership has already worked on the development of infrastructure and urban projects in Tunisia, Warsaw, Hanoi and Beirut, where French specialists changed the urban lighting system and created green zones. Currently, the region cooperates with Yerevan.
