The choice of St. Nicholas Cathedral for the installation after the fire has not only aesthetic and cultural value, but also a deep symbolic meaning. According to the authors of the project, this will contribute to raising awareness of the importance of preserving historical monuments and supporting their restoration.
The facade of the church was chosen to highlight the design week due to its unique architecture, which harmoniously combines historical significance with aesthetic expression. The building is one of the most recognizable examples of neo-Gothic style in Ukraine, which successfully emphasizes the relationship between traditions and modern design solutions.
The lighting effects resemble intangible paints and reflect the subtle experience of the artist, which later turns into a masterpiece.
To realize the idea, experts have developed a unique system with:
-
custom handmade glass filters;
-
caustic laser;
-
moving mechanism;
-
as well as software of our own development, which manages and creates a unique combination of light refractions due to the movement of light.
The unique audio accompaniment of the installation symbolizes lofty intangible thoughts, dreams, prayers and aspirations, which are then transformed into a work of art.
You can see the "Soul" installation as part of Kyiv Design Week 2024 on the territory of "Toronto-Kyiv" until the end of this week, September 1, from 20:00 p.m. to 23:00 p.m. Address: 100 Velyka Vasylkivska Street.
