About the details of the work Told me founder and head of the Expolight studio Mykola Kabluka.
According to him, the main idea was to create an atmosphere with light that emphasizes the architecture and interior of the restaurant.
The interior of the establishment was designed by the balbek bureau studio under the leadership of architect Slava Balbek. One of the key features of the space was a surface with complex geometry, made of natural chipped stone.
It was on it that 3D mapping was implemented - a light projection that transforms the wall into a dynamic art object. The movement of light delicately emphasizes the natural texture of the material and adds depth to the interior.
Another lighting element was the caustic lamps specially created for this project by Expolight. They illuminated the interior columns, creating the effect of light "clouds" that seemed to smoothly spread across the surface.
The restaurant also implemented a multi-level lighting system with biodynamic scenarios that change the atmosphere of the space throughout the day and adapt to different times and formats of guests' stay.
Lighting and media systems were integrated into the Expolight Cloud Control System, which allows for remote control of lighting and scenarios. According to Mykola Kabluka, such projects are particularly valuable because they combine modern technologies with the historical context of Kyiv.
We remind you that the Ukrainian Expolight team presented a comprehensive project lighting for the Molfar restaurant in Brussels, located in a 300-year-old building next to the Cathedral of Saints Michael and Gudula.
