About this reports the edition of The World Architecture.
The complex includes high-rise office towers, commercial space, two residential buildings, headquarters towers and a luxury hotel located along the central waterfront.
"The developed complex envisions a dynamic waterfront community, low density and a lush green environment for working and living, which is expected to add new vibrancy to Nanjing and create a hub of culture, finance and innovation," UNStudio said.
The architects propose to introduce a multi-level transport network, which will include a direct connection to the underground public transport system. This will not only provide convenience for visitors, but also improve regional accessibility.
The ecological design of the complex is aimed at creating a low-carbon environment. All buildings will be equipped with active energy saving technologies, such as natural ventilation, climate system, solar photovoltaic panels on roofs and facades, and rainwater management system.
The office towers will be built from prefabricated components, as well as a modular supporting structure.
This project aims to help China become carbon neutral by 2060.
