The petition was created in order to preserve the biodiversity of pollinating insects and reduce carbon emissions, write White Mad.
Internet users call to reduce the frequency of mowing the grass and arrange wild meadows. They also emphasize that this process not only destroys valuable greenery, but also pollutes the environment. By the way, in the US alone, more than 3,7 billion liters of gasoline are used every year to maintain lawns.
"Lawns are a sterile environment, also known as a desert, for insects and other animals. Instead, wild plants provide the foundation for ecosystems and biodiversity. Today, an unprecedented decline in the quality of the environment and the number of pollinators can be observed all over the world. This easy-to-implement and cost-effective change would be an important step in the right direction on a global scale, given the state of church property," the petition reads.
As of the time of publication, the electronic appeal has collected about 6 signatures out of the 000 required. You can read the full text of the petition at here.
