According to Design Boom, the famous video game inspired designers to create such shoes.
The team of craftsmen jokes: "Here they are - a pair of puffy leather boots for plumbers, in which pipe repair will turn into a pleasure."

The Super Mario boots are made of high-quality leather, with a thickened toe and rounded heels. To make them more similar to the Mushroom Kingdom game series, the craftsmen used mushroom mycelium for the sole.
Nintendo has engaged professionals from Red Wing Shoes to create a pair of shoes as part of an advertising campaign ahead of the release of the Super Mario Bros. movies in April this year.
