Derzhkino issued an order to temporarily stop the "reorganization" of the Dovzhenko Center even before the full evaluation of the archival collection is completed.

Thus, on March 7, 2023, another court session was held regarding the cancellation of the order on the reorganization of the Dovzhenko Center.

Olena Honcharuk, who headed the Dovzhenko Center after winning the competition on February 6, told "Detektor-media" that during the meeting it turned out that Derzhkino suspended the effect of its order at the end of last year.

According to her, the State Cinema issued an order to stop the "reorganization" on December 12, 2022, "until the expert assessment of the collections and the full audit of the Dovzhenko Center's activities are completed." However, the order was not delivered to the institution and they learned about it only through a lawyer's request.

"How Derzhkino sees the expert assessment of the collections, and most importantly, what the purpose of this assessment is, is unknown, but the legislation does not provide for such a procedure," said Honcharuk.

The preparatory meeting was held due to the request of Derzhkino to close the case, they say, due to the lack of a subject of dispute. But he was rejected.

The next court hearing is scheduled for March 28.
