Paris authorities have decided to turn off the lights on the Eiffel Tower an hour earlier than usual. In addition, the water temperature in municipal swimming pools will be lowered and the heating of public buildings will be postponed. Such measures were adopted in order to reduce the level of energy use in the cold season.
The day before, French President Emmanuel Macron set a goal: industry, households and municipalities should reduce energy use by 10%.
