About this reported the one of the co-authors of the project, Kateryna Cherednyk.
The architects strive to preserve the "value-psychological core of the urban culture and identity of the city." The main goal is the combination of open spaces and their meeting areas, green areas with different types of plants, a combination of paving types, lighting systems and small architectural forms.
It is proposed to reduce the traffic area and thereby create a bicycle structure and increase green recreation areas.
"For the organization of parking spaces in the amount of 6 pcs. (3 pieces on each side of the carriageway) a separate zone is set aside for people with disabilities. We propose to move the parking lot outside the design area in order to create the integrity of a single space, increase environmental friendliness by reducing the load on the highway," the project states.
It is planned to develop green zones according to the principles of symmetry, taking into account the already existing Japanese sophoras. European lindens with compact crowns will provide additional shade in the summer. The selection of plants of the lower tier was made taking into account the gradual sequence of flowering from May to September and the aroma composition of fragrant flowers.
The memorial with the names of the heroes of the Soviet Union is proposed to be moved to Victory Park. The free space can be filled with theater posters.
