Bessarabian Market is preparing to launch a renovated gastronomic space

Currently, the Bessarabsky market is completing preparations for the launch of the gastronomic project "Bessarabka. Food Market."

According to told “Village” in the team, it was created by enterprising entrepreneurs who decided to return the market to the status of a vibrant urban gastronomic center and combine classic trade with a modern food hall without changing the historical purpose of the building.

Project manager Natalia Dzhulay assures that there is no interference with the historic building and there will be no interference.

"We have not touched and do not plan to touch a single authentic element. All the walls, columns, tiles, wrought iron structures - everything has been preserved. This is about aesthetic renewal, modernization of equipment, inclusivity and arrangement of areas where entrepreneurs directly work. This does not affect the structure of the building and does not concern any protected elements of the interior or exterior," says project manager Natalia Dzhulay.

At first, several entrepreneurs participated in the project, but later it grew into a joint investment of 16 participants. The market administration provided trading spaces for temporary use with the right to renew them. The old traders will remain in their places and will work alongside the new gastronomic formats.

According to Julay, before the renovation, the market was in a neglected state, making it difficult for vendors to operate and reducing footfall. The full-scale war only exacerbated these problems.

The project will launch 17 food corners and a separate bar. The menus of different operators will not be duplicated. The territory has about 400 seats - furniture and structures are located around the perimeter so as not to interfere with the shopping arcades. There will also be a small stage for events.

The final stage of preparation is currently underway: equipment installation, testing of technical processes, cleaning. Generators are also being prepared in case of power outages. The opening will be announced in the near future.
