According to write Business Censor, this project cost the construction and housing department of the Kyiv City Council a little more than UAH 1,5 million. The "Institute of Urbanism" determined that the volume of outdated housing in the city is 4 buildings, in which more than half a million people live.
The service life of mass housing built in the 1950s-60s should not exceed 50-70 years. As stated in the Program, now more than 20 Kyiv apartments (almost 2% of the total number) do not have cold water supply, and more than 35 (3,3%) have hot water. 46,5 thousand apartments (4,3%) do not have sewage, more than 42 thousand (3,9%) are not heated.
In general, it is proposed to demolish 70% of Kyiv's outdated housing stock. In the place of five-story buildings, new buildings with 20 floors or more will appear.
All residents of the old buildings will move to new apartments. According to the Program, they will be 1,4-1,5 times larger in area, while the developer will sell other housing at market prices.

That is, seven million square meters of outdated housing will be demolished, and the area of new buildings will reach 31 million square meters. m. The share of housing, which should go to compensate the owners of old buildings, will on average be 34% of the project areas.
The "Institute of Urbanism" in the program gives examples of previously implemented reconstruction projects in Kyiv. In particular, the block along Marshala Grechka Street in Syrka. The plot was rebuilt according to the principle of "waves", when each demolition is preceded by the construction of a new building, where displaced residents are provided with housing.
