The work of Bronislav Zamorsky was translated into Ukrainian for the first time in 155 years.

Charitable organization Spadshchyna.UA invites On November 22, attend the presentation of the first Ukrainian translation of Bronislav Zamorskyi's work on the history of the Pomeranians and the Pomeranian Castle.

The Polish-Ukrainian translation of the book was carried out by a local historian, public and layman, native Pomeranian Teodor Gudziak, supplementing the text with comments and a large number of color illustrations, including those collected in the archives of Lviv and Ternopil museums.

More than a century and a half ago, Bronislav Zamorskyi published a fundamental work about the past and present of the royal city of Pomorie and the Pomorie Castle. In it, he highlighted the results of his research into the castle, magisterial and church archives. For this purpose, the author spent two years - 1865-1867 - in the estate of his friend, the then owner of the castle, Józef Pruszynski.

The organizers explain that the "Pomeranian Chronicle" can be considered a unique historical intelligence, which complements a number of information sources on the history of one of the key objects of cultural heritage of the Lviv region and chronologically covers a period of more than six centuries. The book documents the economic structure of the castle and the community for at least two centuries, and an inventory of the castle's significant collections of books, decorative and applied art is carried out.

The main value of this publication is that the printed and handwritten sources from the castle archives used in it were irretrievably lost less than ten years after the publication of the book: after the death of the owner of the castle, Józef Pruszynski, the materials were sold by his descendants at an auction by weight as waste paper. Therefore, the historical facts, chronological descriptions of the events that took place here, and other informative materials that were drawn from this source can be considered unique.
