The main task of modern sun protection systems is to create a favorable microclimate. They reduce the amount of solar energy by 5-10 times, helping to evenly distribute heat throughout the room and at the same time provide an opportunity to regulate the amount of scattered natural lighting, and with a comprehensive approach they can completely replace air conditioners and even regulate the heating of the air around the building. In other words, they significantly increase the architectural characteristics of the building, reducing the cost of its connection to highway communications and the cost of operation in general, and thanks to the variety of technological and decorative solutions, they create a unique aesthetic appearance of the object.
Installation of photovoltaics on the territory of the MANEZH production complex and the first gas station for cars in Cherkassy, waste sorting, implementation of a zero-waste production system, formation of a mature corporate culture based on the principles of kaizen and "turquoise organizations" - transformations and innovations of the MANEZH company, as a leader in the field of design and production of sun protection systems , always starts with itself. She supports modern trends in architecture and construction, striving to react as accurately as possible to current market requirements. In fact, the development of new products is conditioned by the actually formed requests of the industry. In other words, it is a response to current trends. It is natural that the company transfers the values that have been raised during its 24 years of existence to its facilities as well.
The restaurant 188 by Safari in Dnipro, created according to the project of Yevhen Vasiliev, is no exception. In this case, the basis of the partnership between MANEZH and customers was close values, and the most important of them was environmental friendliness. It is interesting that a whole ecosystem is implemented here on the terrace of the sixth floor. Among other things, its implementation was facilitated by the choice of the right sun protection systems - these are the M-OCEAN pergolas of MANEZH's own production with a sliding PVC roof and the Screen Spectra ZIP windproof systems for closing the openings, which we talked about in detail in our previous materials. Moreover, their correct management helps to "synchronize" the vital processes of the object with the environment.

The systems have weather automation, which allows them to react depending on the time of day and precipitation, for example, automatically closing and opening, turning on or off the lighting. At the same time, they do not disturb the panorama overlooking the garden. Trees grow on the terrace itself, which in itself enhances the feeling of unity with nature while preserving a unique microclimate. The entire terrace is designed in accordance with the rhythm of today's day - it has both dynamics and life.
It is not worth reminding that the longevity of the product depends not only on its quality, but also on proper operation. Therefore, the MANEZH service team always provides instruction on how to use the systems, which is especially important for large and complex projects.
The main task of modern sun protection systems is to create a favorable microclimate
The main difficulty in working on the restaurant Veranda on the River in Kyiv, according to the project of Olga Dzyuba, was that it is an object on the water, and therefore has an unstable foundation. Therefore, MANEZH specialists, among other things, had to calculate the anchors and fasteners and take into account the possibility of leaks. "We wanted the surrounding natural landscape, since the restaurant is on the water, to be as accessible to visitors as possible, so that the roof could be opened and the sky could be seen. At the same time, protection from the sun and rain was required. MANEZH systems became a suitable solution," says project author Olga Dzyuba. M-OCEAN pergolas with a sliding PVC roof, M-OCEAN-LINE — a bioclimatic pergola with rotating slats, and Roman blinds inside are also used here for sun protection: in addition to external protection, the MANEZH company also deals with internal sun protection.
Solar protection systems significantly increase the architectural characteristics of the building, reducing the cost of its operation
MANEZH has a number of objects sold abroad, including in Austria, Norway, Spain, Canada and the USA. For example, the restaurant and entertainment complex Avenida Alemania in Dominican Punta Cana, which was worked on by the architects of the YOD design lab studio Vladimir Nepiyvoda and Dmitry Bonesco. "In the Dominican Republic, we implemented two establishments in one place - the TAINO restaurant and the YOPO Tiki bar on the third floor of the complex," the authors of the project say. — It was in the bar upstairs that we decorated the terrace with pergolas from MANEZH. We have been cooperating for a long time and we are very satisfied with the result: the company offers a quality Ukrainian product and always fulfills its obligations."
To protect the bar terrace from the sun, the authors of the project chose the same M-OCEAN pergolas with a sliding PVC roof, as well as the M-OCEAN-LINE bioclimatic pergola with rotating slats, but added Screen Spectra ZIP reflectors. The specialists of MANEZH undertook the entire range of services — from the full development of systems for this project, coordination of drawings, visualizations and calculations to the departure for the supervision of installation and supervision of the process in cooperation with foreign contractors and service services.
The most important aspect of the company's activity is also the development and implementation of energy-efficient solutions. Energy efficiency is not just a fad, but a necessity. Starting this year in Europe, according to the adopted legislation, it is forbidden to build passive houses that consume more than 15 kilowatt-hours per hour (per one square meter of area). It is known that 40% of all energy used in the world is in buildings, and in light of the fact that its inappropriate use contributes to global warming, this issue is directly related to ecology. If you want an energy-efficient facility, use outdoor solar protection systems. This will reduce energy costs for air conditioning (the temperature in the room can decrease by 7 °C); will maintain the balance of temperature and humidity in the room; prevent the heating of the glass and the formation of the greenhouse effect.
A good example of energy efficiency in action is BMW and Renault showrooms in Kyiv. In the first one, facade blinds are used (when the slats are closed, only 7% of thermal energy gets inside), in the second, reflexols, which transmit from 5 to 12% of thermal energy. "Today, businessmen understand the importance of this issue," says the MANEZH company. — It is necessary to take into account how high the costs of air conditioning can be, sometimes even exceeding the costs of heating. Seeing the benefit, they strive for energy efficiency, and the most affordable way to realize it is solar protection solutions. That is why MANEZH is chosen as a market leader and a company that sets the direction of development in the field of sun protection in Ukraine." Here, they are proud to be recognized as a Ukrainian manufacturer producing products of European quality.
You probably know the first active house (independently producing energy) in Ukraine. This Optima House in Mykulychy near Kyiv, developed by architect Alexander Kucheryav. So, it is equipped with reflectors and awnings developed by the MANEZH company. Their integration into the general energy-saving system of the house contributed to the fact that with a total area of 128 square meters. m. he consumes only 8 thousand kilowatt-hours per hour, while the usual consumes all 20 thousand kilowatt-hours per hour.
So, the issue of sun protection of modern architectural objects is more than important and it is desirable to take it into account at the design stage. And do not think that it is relevant only for the southern regions. Facades exposed to solar radiation must be covered with sun protection devices. At the same time, both static and mobile systems should be used, taking into account the potential of such structural-planning and functional elements as balconies, bay windows, and the like. It is also important to protect the roof from heat, since the traditional horizontal surface of the roof receives 2-3 times more solar radiation than the vertical wall.
We strive to ensure that the values of our company coincide with the values of our partners and customers
With all the economic benefits of solar protection systems, they can also serve as an additional means of identifying buildings: office, residential, HoReCa, and others. With a rational approach, they allow the architect to solve a whole range of problems at once, and not only structural or technological ones.
