The Hollywood co-working space was built according to the project of the Spanish architecture office SelgasCano. It consists of individual capsules of an elliptical shape with yellow roofs (when viewed from above, the campus resembles either a pond with yellow lilies or a basket with Easter eggs). Each of the offices differs in size and shape. Yes, the largest can accommodate 25 people.

The houses are partially dug into the ground, which helps to improve thermal insulation. At the same time, large panoramic windows provide a lot of natural light and open a view of the street.

The material for the offices was cross-laminated timber (CLT). From the inside, the structure is supported by large steel beams, which were necessary due to the seismically active area. The beams are painted yellow to match the roof and the glossy floor.

Tables made of corian (acrylic stone) frame the space around the perimeter, forming separate workplaces. There are also large white tables for meetings in the middle of the offices. Chairs upholstered in red and orange textiles add even more brightness to the interior.

Offices are connected by walkways with wooden flooring to stimulate interaction between different tenants. About 6,5 people were planted on the campus. plants (this is the densest new planting in California). Landscape architects have chosen such species that are suitable for the arid climate of Los Angeles. If necessary, green plantings will be watered using the "smart controller" technology.

Second Home is a company that specializes in new types of workspace. It was founded in 2014 by Sam Aldenton and Rohan Silva, a former adviser to the ex-prime minister of Great Britain, David Cameron. Second Home offices and coworking spaces are designed primarily for startups and creative industries. The Hollywood campus opened in September of this year, becoming the sixth Second Home project (after the London and Lisbon ones). Coworking is open 7 hours a day, XNUMX days a week.
