On April 8 at 18:00, an online lecture in English will be held on the topic "Basic principles that should be taken into account when rebuilding destroyed cities of Ukraine. Restoration of destroyed cities as an impetus for architectural changes and rethinking for the surviving cities of the whole country."

The invited speaker was the architect and urbanist Ian Gal.

"Dozens of Ukrainian towns and villages have already been destroyed and damaged during the month of war. And today we need to think about how we will restore the destroyed and mutilated cities after the victory. World practice has many different reconstruction scenarios, so the solution to this issue must be conscious and meaningful", - the organizers of the event comment on the relevance of the topic of discussion.

Speaker Ian Gale is called the father of urban planning - for more than fifty years, Ian Gale has been promoting changes in urban environments around the world and acting as an expert consultant on urban planning. The architect wrote many books, including "Cities for People", which was published in 32 languages.

In 2000, he founded Gehl Architects – a company that explores and transforms spaces, streets, and cities in accordance with people's needs. By the way, the portfolio of Gehl Architects includes projects for Berlin, Shanghai, Melbourne, New York, London, Sydney, etc.

In the registration form for the event, those who wish will have the opportunity to leave questions to Ian. The organizers will select 3-5 of the most relevant ones, which will be discussed during the webinar.

The moderator will be Mykola Morozov - architect, head of the creative department of the archimatika company.
