And it all started with the famous "Self-portrait with a bandaged ear and a pipe" (1889) by Vincent Van Gogh. It is interesting that the artist's right ear is bandaged on it, while he cut off the left one. Inspired by the depth of Van Gogh's work and life, the Hochu rayu team has come up with a sweet Vincent's Ear gift. The craftsmen even recreated a real model of the Dutchman's ear, and used another work of the author - "Self-Portrait in a Felt Hat" for the packaging design.
The goal of the Eat Art project is to draw attention to the stories behind these works, to their creators and to art in general, to note its value and at the same time enjoy the taste. "We live in an era of hyper-consumerism — both the works of art themselves and their authors have turned into common, accessible products on the market. That's why we chose a hyperbolic metaphor of consumerism and literally turned pieces of paintings into food."
In addition to "ears", the Eat Art collection currently includes "Taras Mustache", "Kazimir's Squares", "Frida's Eyebrows" made of Belgian chocolate according to the original design of Hochu rayu innovative bureau.
